Lost & Found

Losing a pet is scary and could happen to anyone.

If you've lost your pet, please check our Lost & Found page often, and be sure to reach out and let us know if we should be on the lookout.

Find your new, furry family member at the HSBC! We provide adoptions for both cats and dogs. All interested adopters should fill out our pre-application and submit for review.

Check out the Live Feed from the Community Cat Room on the Cat Adoption Page.

The Humane Society of Burnett County is always seeking volunteers to help us accomplish our mission.  There are quite a few volunteering opportunities available to fit your time and skill set. Orientation and training is provided at the shelter.

Kybo is a handsome 2 year old Alaskan Husky X that is now ready to find his home.  He is a gentle dog, listens well and is very intelligent.  He does well on his leash, but always room for improvement.  He likes being with people, whether outside or hanging out on the couch next to you.  Kybo is a very nice boy!

News from the Happy Tails Blog

November 2, 2017

Gemini is a little over 4 months now, weighs 5.2 lbs, and is an absolutely outstanding kitten! She’s very talkative, loves to snuggle on your chest, close to your face, so she can gaze into your eyes. She loves to be petted, she is getting along well with our lab/greyhound mix, and even loves to fetch her wand toy and bring it back to you every time! I am so grateful to the awesome staff there at Burnett Co. H.S. for socializing her, you guys did such a fantastic job! We just love her, she is the perfect addition to...

Gidget (we kept her name) has been a wonderful addition to our family. She’s such a sweetheart and greets everyone with a tail wag. Her favorite is belly rubs and cuddling with her human brother and sister. We are working on leash training. Her hound nose likes to pull us in her direction, but it’s a work in progress! We’ve fallen in love with her in just a few short weeks. Best decision ever!

Missy Mae (Missy)

October 29, 2017

Missy Mae is doing very well with us. She is a busy girl and lets us know about every 2 hours during the day that she HAS to play BALL!!! We discovered quickly that we could not have any toys in the house for her, as she just doesn’t know how to quit playing fetch! So all play time is done outside. She would play fetch till she drops! She also enjoys taking walks with us down our dirt road and into the woods. She has fit in very well with our other 3 dogs. Sadly, our oldest dog, JoJo...

“Sammy is doing great in her new home with us. She loves exploring the woods with us and still enjoys lots of belly rubs. She gets along with everyone she has met, even our chickens. We have become such great friends we couldn’t imagine our life without her.”

Sherekahn (Justice)

October 27, 2017

Spoke to Marlene (the new parent of Justice). Justice is now known as Sherekahn, which means “tiger king.” Marlene says: “He is fat and sassy. He’s magnificent. He’s a wonderful companion. He’s entertaining. He’s just a dear. I love him very much. He’s very active. He can jump so high, it scares you. He’s turning into a little cougar. He climbs up on the top of the refrigerator to get to the cupboards. With the first snow, he went crazy and was trying to bat at the snowflakes through my screen and made a little hole in the screen. I...
