Donations & Memberships

The Humane Society of Burnett County, Inc. helps hundreds of animals each year. Without your support, these animals wouldn't have a place to go.

HSBC accepts monetary donations, but there are several other ways to help out! Click to learn more.

Lost & Found

Losing a pet is scary and could happen to anyone.

If you've lost your pet, please check our Lost & Found page often, and be sure to reach out and let us know if we should be on the lookout.

Adopt

Find your new, furry family member at the HSBC! We provide adoptions for both cats and dogs. All interested adopters should fill out our pre-application and submit for review.

Check out the Live Feed from the Community Cat Room on the Cat Adoption Page.

Volunteer

The Humane Society of Burnett County is always seeking volunteers to help us accomplish our mission.  There are quite a few volunteering opportunities available to fit your time and skill set. Orientation and training is provided at the shelter.

Hi! My name is Kybo!

Kybo is a handsome 2 year old Alaskan Husky X that is now ready to find his home.  He is a gentle dog, listens well and is very intelligent.  He does well on his leash, but always room for improvement.  He likes being with people, whether outside or hanging out on the couch next to you.  Kybo is a very nice boy!

Hi! My name is Sibertron!

Sibertron is a beautiful 2 year old kitty that came in as a stray.  She loves people and to be held, a real snuggler.  Sibertron has a playful side and likes to explore and check out her surroundings.  She is a real sweetheart that would make a wonderful addition for that special family!

HAPPY

January 8, 2019

We adopted Happy in October and she fits in with us very well.  Whoever had her first did some serious emotional damage… we had her for 4 days before she even barked!  Now she barks when someone comes over then, goes to get some scratches from them.  She’s our therapy dog…. if we’re not giving it to her, she’s giving it to us.

GIMLI (DEACON)

January 8, 2019

Deacon is now Gimli (because of his big head I named him after the dwarf in Lord of the Rings). He is doing well – has gained about 20 pounds and is very energetic. He is still chewing everything in site so I have to be vigilant. We were doing well training on a leash but since the ice came, he is enjoying running around my woods by himself. He enjoys chasing balls thrown by my grandsons but doesn’t return them as of yet.   Because he tested positive for Lyme when I adopted him, he went through antibiotics and...

FLIP (T’POL)

January 8, 2019

Yes I adopted a kitten on Dec. 22nd. She is female her name was T’Pol. Now it is Flip and she is doing good and getting along with the family well. We just love her!!

FLOSSIE (FROSTY)

January 8, 2019

Hi, Pam. Thank you so much for the follow up. We did change her name to Flossie from Frosty, and she answered to it right away. Tried to keep it sounding the same. She has her own loft, complete with scratching posts, heated kitty house, water fountain bowl and queen human bed (her favorite to lay on). She thinks the spiral staircase going up to it is like a twisted cat ladder that she likes. We took her to the groomer last week and she did well and still smells like a cookie! It’s taken her awhile to warm up...

BUCKO (ARCHER)

January 8, 2019

Pam, His name was Archer now it is Bucko. He is wonderful and I think so happy. He sleeps all night and plays in the morning then nap time and plays all evening. We left a picture there last week of him sleeping on his favorite toy – a fox pelt. He drags it all over. He is such a good kitty and so happy we gave him a new home. Thank you.
