Lost & Found

Losing a pet is scary and could happen to anyone.

If you've lost your pet, please check our Lost & Found page often, and be sure to reach out and let us know if we should be on the lookout.

Find your new, furry family member at the HSBC! We provide adoptions for both cats and dogs. All interested adopters should fill out our pre-application and submit for review.

Check out the Live Feed from the Community Cat Room on the Cat Adoption Page.

The Humane Society of Burnett County is always seeking volunteers to help us accomplish our mission.  There are quite a few volunteering opportunities available to fit your time and skill set. Orientation and training is provided at the shelter.

We adopted Owen the American Bulldog in November. Owen is doing very well at his new home in Duluth! We live in an apartment, and he is adjusting to apartment life much better than we expected, as our space is fairly small and can be noisy at times. Owen loves to snuggle, sleep, go for walks, and play with his humans! He is always wagging his tail and absolutely loves treats and food. He’s a great listener and very smart! Owen has given us so much love and joy since adopting him, and everyone who has met him loves him!...

Our little “Basil”, now named Oliver is doing great in his new forever home! He’s enjoying playing/tormenting his big brother Stewie our 13 year old Manx and also playing/chasing our 9 year old Chocolate Lab Stanley. He also enjoys the many hours of Love our little girls give him! He’s such a loving little kitty! Immediately when we pick him up he starts his purring, and it’s loud! I think he’s just as happy as we are to have him in our family! A big THANK YOU to you and your organization for not only rescuing/taking care of this little...

Bailey is doing wonderful! Her and her brother R uger love to play all day long. She is almost house trained for our house. She loves to snuggle at night right up next to me. She is so sweet and is settling in nicely. She loves when my nephew lays on her and snuggles with her in bed. She loves to play tug of war and go for walks. She is settling very nicely to our home and I’m so happy to have her.

My little adopted kitty is doing great!  Her name was originally Pebbles, but I changed it to Tuuli. She’s so much fun, she adapted to her new surroundings really well and now acts like she owns the place.  She is also quite the little snuggle bug and a purring machine.  And every night before bed we play fetch.  She’ll chase a ball and even bring it back to me. She likes to climb the Christmas tree, otherwise she’s really well behaved and fun. Thanks for following up! Merry Christmas! Laura and Tuuli
