It is going really great! We got Goose and renamed him to Stryker (he wouldn’t respond to Goose at all for us but instantly picked up on Stryker). He is happy and thriving, We unexpectedly lost one of our other dogs shortly after getting Stryker (Bozo was only 3 and got some kind of infection that gave him pneumonia and he started having seizures which took him) and he’s been such a blessing to our remaining German Shepherd who is grieving the loss of his BFF who he was pretty co-dependent on. He’s settled in super well with our kids and is such a great family dog, our toddler can lay on top of him and he just sits and licks her face, excited to be getting attention. Already super protective of all 3 of our kids – prefers to sleep in their room with them and can always be found within reaching distance of one of them. Very obedient and quick to pick up on any training, He’s a super chewer so that was a problem for a bit but we got him bones and super chew toys and he quickly adapted to sticking to just those. Potty training hasn’t been fun, he seems to be pretty stinking stubborn so that’s been hard to break, he spends a lot of time outside because of it. He goes to the river with all of us on a regular basis and is learning that he likes water but it took him quite some time to dip even his paws in which was humorous. He’s such a good boy and fit perfectly into our family.
