We adopted Simba in May. My daughter named him Meeko. He’s doing great....

Well, I could update you on all four of our cats since they all have come from the HSBC. I can start with the most recent adoption.
Benny: We’ve kept his name the same. We chose him because he looked so much like our Bugs, that we joked he was his dad. He very much still loves attention but shies away to any quick or loud movements. He’s finally settled in and usually takes his favorite perch on the back of the couch. It took him a while to feel comfortable to come upstairs when the rest of us were moving around. Him and our other male cat are great friends. They can be seen wrestling anywhere, but the stairs are their favorite place. He likes to chase all the cat toys we have rolling around. Trust me, there’s a lot lol. Our female cat has mostly accepted that Benny is here to stay and has started to play with him, but is still reserved around him.
Pepper: We’ve kept her name the same. At first, she wanted nothing to do with our first male cat. She would hiss for him to keep his distance whenever he came close to sniff her. Bugs very much likes to push that boundary with her. She’ll now wrestle him and chase after the soft ball toys. Those are her favorite. String is also a game she likes. We’ve literally tied a string to an old arrow rod with yarn at the bottom. She often likes to sleep the day away either in a chair in my sewing room or on top of a bookshelf downstairs. She doesn’t mind being picked up and held. Around 2 am she chooses one of us fellow humans to wake and play by purring and licking our faces or feet and will take a nibble of fingers or toes for fun. hehe How dare we sleep while she’s ready to play.
Eon: We now call him Bugs. He’s such a spunky little guy even from the get-go. Loves all things that he can bat and move, balls twisty ties, strings, etc. He wants to be friends with anyone he meets including the big dogs that walk down the road with their owners. (No, we didn’t let him get that far.) He has been excited with each new cat friend that has arrived. He likes to follow dad outside when it’s warm. Despises this coldness. He loves the heat. When he’s not playing, he’s napping anywhere he deems fit. Soft and fuzzy places are his favorite. He really, really likes pets. However, don’t pick him up, at least not for long, you might find a claw or two to your face. He is the softest cat I know, and very meticulous with his cleaning.
Archie: We kept his name the same. Unfortunately, Archie didn’t survive. He loved the outdoors and we gave him a lot of freedom and he always came back and listened very well. One night he did not. We searched and searched for weeks, but never found anything. We’re guessing the wildlife in our area got him. 🙁 He was an awesome cat.
I hope I wrote enough. I’ve attached pictures of Benny, Bugs, and Pepper. Benny is the larger black and white one with a pink nose (left side). Bugs is smaller with a black nose (right side). And Princess Pepper is posing perfectly for her photo lol.
