New name is Max, he does pay attention to it, he needs to be on leash whenever out, he likes to be outside and we have him on a 50′ rope on each side of the house, he wants to play (?) with the rabbits. Is a picky eater, doesn’t like peanut butter, sometimes goes all day without eating his kibble (Science Diet) but has gained a couple pounds, so I’m not concerned. We’ve always had labs so this is like dealing with a little child, up on bed, lap, etc. He did have a paper cone on and I would insist on a plastic cone, he was able to get to the incision and there was about an inch of suture hanging out when I took him after a week to the Grantsburg vet and that’s what they found, so pain meds, antibiotics, etc. and then a follow up visit so $$$ not to mention the meds and labs. There wasn’t a charge for the first visit, but for the second. I also know at the Shell Lake vet they take the scrotum (sack) and don’t use a cone and seem to have no problem.
