I wanted to share a little moment from today that honestly has my heart overflowing.

Louie had his very first haircut today. We tried taking him to our neighbor, who’s a groomer, but the new environment scared him. So I took a deep breath, grabbed some clippers, and decided to take it slow and do it myself. We moved at his pace, one gentle moment at a time. His coat is changing, and watching that happen felt symbolic in a way I can’t fully put into words.

I’m almost crying as I write this, because the transformation I’ve seen in this little guy over the past three months has been nothing short of miraculous. Louie came to us during one of his darkest chapters, and now he’s stepping into the brightest days of his life. He’s putting on weight, too—he’s now 6.6 pounds. When we got him, he was under five. Seeing that number rise feels like watching hope grow.

Because of HSBC and the amazing staff, Louie was redeemed. He was given a second chance at life, safety, and love. And in return, he has brought so much joy, light, and healing into my heart—more than I ever imagined possible.
