We did change Venus’ name to Serafina (Fina for short most of the time).

She is doing well, growing fast and super energetic (as you’d expect!). She got checked out by our vet, got more shots, and has an appointment to get spayed in August.

She is quite friendly and likes to sit wherever the humans are when she’s not running around. She and the dog get along great, unless she tries to poach his food then he warns her off. Good for a cat to be multi-lingual. Our older cat is still not thrilled about things.
When Fina tries to play, she gets hissed at, which is sad. Not a violent reaction though, and things are ok so long as Fina keeps her distance. For example, playing with a laser pointer is taken in tag team fashion taking turns chasing the dot (or watching) rather than both trying to tackle it at once.

Here’s a video from a few weeks back: Fina fished a tissue paper ghost out of a box of seasonal decorations and was playing with it. While the dog barked at a jogger going by out the window, so watch with sound off. The ghost was energetically shredded soon after the video and Fina was quite pleased with herself carrying around the leftover bits.

A great addition to the family, we found the right cat and she’s enjoying her new home!
